My Debut at The Grand Ole Opry

When I was 12 years old, my parents took me to the Opryland Hotel in Nashville to be part of a fundraising event supporting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. When I walked into the massive auditorium and saw the stage, I remember turning to my mom and saying, “I want to do this when I grow up.” While in town, we went next door and watched the Grand Ole Opry.

Hey, that’s me!

Well, I recently had the opportunity to “step into the circle” and make my comedic debut at the Grand Ole Opry in front of an amazing audience of 3,000 people. I think my younger self would have been really pumped about this. It was fun being backstage. I met so many talented performers!

And way more importantly, it was also a special week celebrating our son’s first birthday...and first steps! What an amazing year it’s been watching him grow (10 inches!), smile (at my wife’s jokes!) and learn (how to walk!). Our son absolutely loves Tigger, so my wife ensured there were stripes on just about everything at his family party.

And yes, I’m already working on my 2024 Halloween Costume so stay tuned for the big reveal. In the meantime, check out this new costume stand that my buddy Calen Hoffman made for the 2023 Fireman Costume!
